There is a growing trend on the internet with dofollow blogs. What are dofollow blogs you ask? They are blogs that do not use the nofollow tag. When you post a comment on a dofollow blog, the webmaster gives you link credit and does not include the dreaded nofollow tag that is default in all WordPress themes. This means that you are getting Google to recognize the link to your site and give you credit for the backlink. It has long been though that backlinks going to other sites from your site lower your page rank, especially a backlink to a site with a lower PR than yours – so why are so many webmasters taking away the nofollow tag? Simple. Google’s main goal is to make it easy for the end user to find data. Sharing is the key to the internet. Web 2.0 is all about communal sharing of information and Web 2.0 changed the way we find data on the internet. It’s a new trend that is here to stay.
Do you think it’s a good idea for blogs to eliminate the nofollow tag?
The real question is does Google even recognize the nofollow tag anymore? Are you getting backlink love from Google on your webmasters account dashboard from backlinks on nofollow sites?
